Students should not have homework. No more worksheets to fill in. No more spelling sentences to write. No more math problems to work out. One reason is that kids need time to play sports and do activities outside of school. Most kids would rather play outside or read than do homework. Another reason is that doing homework does not increase what kids know, so even though kids are practicing what they learned, they aren’t learning more.

Students should not have homework.

I just visited my cousin and went to her school. They have a school garden filled with flowers and vegetables like tomatoes, okra, and green peppers. We should plant our own garden at school because it is a great way to learn about how plants grow. We could use the strip of brown dirt next to the science rooms so it is easy to study the garden during class.

Another reason we should plant a garden is that we can eat the vegetables and fruits from our garden. Not only is a school garden a way to make our school more beautiful, it also makes students smarter and healthier.

What kind of cars do you know about? Most of the cars that people buy today run on gas. But more and more car makers are making hybrid cars, or cars that run on both gas and electricity.

Car makers should make more hybrid cars. There are many reasons why hybrid cars are a good idea. First, these cars can go farther on an electric charge and a gallon of gas than gas-powered cars do. This is important because electricity is easier to make than gas. Second, hybrid cars have much cheaper fuel costs.

Car crashes are extremely dangerous. In the past, not all cars had seatbelts. As highways began to spread across the United States, more and more people were getting hurt in car crashes. The government made a new law requiring everyone to wear a seatbelt in order to keep people safe. As a result, there were far fewer deaths on the road. It was estimated that seatbelts saved about 14,000 lives in the year 2015.

Every two years people from all over the world come together to compete in the Olympics. Athletes play games in teams, like soccer and hockey. There are also running and downhill skiing races. The games are divided into winter sports, like ice skating and sledding, and summer sports, like volleyball and swimming. But if you could watch only one Olympics, should you watch the summer or winter?

Here, I will make the point that the summer Olympics are more exciting than the winter Olympics. There are several reasons this is true. First, more countries and athletes participate in the summer Olympics, and it’s always more fun to watch games where lots of people compete. Second, more sports are played in the summer Olympics, so if you don’t like running you could watch weightlifting instead.

The summer Olympics are more exciting than the winter Olympics.

To bake a loaf of bread, it is important to follow a series of steps. First, you must activate the yeast by mixing it with warm water. After it has been sitting, you can mix it into the flour. You should knead the bread until the dough is smooth. Next, you have to let the bread rise by placing it somewhere warm. When it has doubled in size, you can put it in the oven. Last, check the loaf of bread as it bakes to make sure you don’t burn it.

People in Florida should not build houses or stores right on the beach. One reason people should not build on the beach is that climate change is making hurricanes more harmful. Hurricanes are storms that start over water. They have lots of wind and rain. When they move over land, that wind and rain can cause a lot of damage. Another reason is that sea levels are rising quickly and eroding beaches. Sea level is where the sea meets the beach. If sea levels go up, beaches can erode or disappear.
