This is something a friend might say.  A person in blackout seems conscious to others, but cannot remember what they did or where they were. Memories from "black-outs" are never formed so they can't return.

What is the most dangerous thing you can do when trying to sober up a friend?  Many tragedies have occurred after putting a friend to bed.  BAC can continue to rise even after someone stops drinking; even while someone is sleeping. Young people can die in their sleep as breathing progressively shuts down as well as by asphyxiation caused by choking on their own vomit.
