  • Only a fellow human being was able to fulfill Adam and satisfy him at the deepest levels of his being
  • The word “helper” suggests an affinity between the man and the woman and a relationship that is supportive and nurturing

  • Just as the Holy Spirit is the bond of unity between the Father & Son, so He is the bond of unity in the Church 
  • Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to the Church, and the Spirit renews and transforms all those who receive Him by making them into His temple
  • He dwells within the members of the Church, then unites them into the one Church by conforming them to Christ — people of every color, language, and culture. 
  • He grants them different gifts according to the Church’s needs
    • Though the gifts are diverse, they are united because they come from the same Holy Spirit
