What is a cattle trail? What is its purpose? Describe the reason using the concepts of supply/demand and price incentive.

A cattle trail is rounding up cattle to railroads to ship them back east. The demand for beef in the west was low but the demand for beef in the east was high. The supply in the west was high but the supply in the east was low. Therefore cattle sold for a higher price in the east. This is a price incentive.
