A group of land lords that chose to settle in the Gulf Coastal Plains region of Texas because of economic opportunities there such as farming, ranching and fishing. These land lords divided up the land for the settlers

About 200 Texians were defending a mission in San Antonio.  The Texians held back the Mexicans for 13 days.  On March 6, 1836, Santa Anna & the Mexican army attacked the mission from all 4 sides and defeated and killed almost everyone inside.

Texans ambushed Mexicans troops, surprising them as they rested. Mexican soldiers surrendered less than 20 minutes after the fight began.  500+ Mexican soldiers died. Santa Anna was captured.

The Texas Revolution ends with Santa Anna’s guarantee to allow Texas to become a republic, and send Mexican troops behind the Rio Grande river.  The Treaties of Velasco were signed
