What first aid measures are needed for stings?

Use a credit card to scrape out stinger, apply ice pack wrapped in a cloth for 20 minutes and watch the person for a severe allergic reaction for 30 minutes.  Call 911 if facial/lips/tongue/eye swelling or tight chest develops.
