What was the Montgomery Bus Boycott?

Laws forced blacks and whites to sit in segregated parts of the bus. Blacks had to give ut their seats to white people if the bus was full. Several people challenged these laws and in december 1955, one incident led to mass protests from the black community: Rosa Parks did not give up her seat. Consequently, the leaders of the black community organised a boycott against the bus company.
