Stories Jesus told
Jesus taught lessons using THIS METHOD, where the teacher puts a familiar story next to a moral truth. He did this so that his messages could land and grow in a soft heart receptive to God. (Mark 4:11-12)
What is a parable?
These special events showed that Jesus had power over creation and was God's chosen representative, events happening beyond what nature normally allows.
What are miracles?
We are commanded to trust Jesus completely, in Luke 18:15-17 when Jesus says, “Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like [this person] shall not enter it.”
Who is a child?
Jesus calls us to be the 'salt of the earth' and the 'light of the world'. He said that when people see our good deeds, people will do THIS to our Father in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16

What is to pray persistently and not give up?
In Genesis 1, God brought order with his presence over the deep waters. In Genesis 6-9 God used excessive water to restart humanity under a new covenant. In Exodus, God saved his people using water in the parting of the sea. Jesus did this miracle on water to set himself apart as one who truly has the right to be heard and that he can do things that only God can be said to do.
What is controlling the weather and stopping the storm?

What is I am the Light of the World?
In Jesus’ day, people were making oaths swearing by God, heaven, or earth, or their own life. “Let your yes be yes and your no, no” Jesus instructs his followers to do this. Matthew 5:33-37
What is do not swear oaths at all?
Jesus said one of these two men would be justified before God because he humbled himself before God. The Pharisee (religious man) who obeys the law and congratulates himself for doing so, or the tax collector who beats his chest and begs God for mercy on his sin. (Luke 18:9-14)
Who is the tax collector?
When 5000 men and others followed Jesus and the disciples for more teachings, the disciples asked Jesus to send them away to get food and lodging for the night. Jesus replied, telling THESE PEOPLE to give the crowds something to eat? (Luke 9:10-17)
Who are the disciples?
This means living the way Jesus taught, showing love and belief through your actions, even when it requires sacrifice. (Matthew 8:18-22)
What is following Jesus?
“Eye for an eye” and “tooth for a tooth” was the way God ordained the Israelites to ensure that in society punishments appropriately fit the crime. Jesus is establishing his law in our hearts and so contrasted the law with moral responsibility of service when he said this line.

What is “turn the other cheek”?
In Matthew13:31-33, Jesus uses this seed to represent the Kingdom of Heaven – Jesus planting himself (in death) will result in an immense people of God from all nations, just like this smallest seed grows into a large tree.
What is a mustard seed?
If a human had this ability over nature they would show off and brag. Jesus quietly used this power to join his disciples in their boat to teach them about who he was. (Mark 6:45-52)

Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30 that “you will find rest for your souls. For THIS is easy and my burden is light. This item is a wooden frame that tethers 2 labouring animals together.

Jesus tells his followers not to worry about what we will eat and wear, pointing us to the birds and the lilies who do not worry. Instead, what does Jesus want us to seek first? Matthew 6:25-34

When Jesus offered to heal THIS MAN's servant, he replied saying, “just say the word” knowing Jesus had a particular authority just like this man did in his job.
