In 2017, Rolling Stone listed it as the 18th on its list of "The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All-Time." Technically, only the track "Stinkfist" was released as a single, but there were also promo singles for "H", "Forty Six & 2" and "Eulogy" and the title track also.

After a nearly 5 year hiatus, Tool returned to the charts with their 3rd studio album in May 2001, a follow-up to their 1996 break-through album. It was their first to chart at #1, has sold over 8.5M copies and produced singles for the tracks "Schism", "Parabola" and the title track. The album began their long-running collaborations with trippy 3-D artist Alex Grey and the physical copy of the album features several translucent pages that when flipped thru add layers to the human body, like a medical text might.

Tool's 4th studio album released in mid-2006 featuring the singles "Vicarious", "The Pot" and "Jambi". There's also weird artwork for the physical copies that featured built-in magnifying lenses to animate the cover artwork. As they are wont to do, the band gave a probably B.S. story about the album, this being that the name referenced the orbital period of the planet Saturn and how long it takes to circle the sun (actually 10,759 days), but the true story may be that the lead singer's mother had recently passed away after being paralyzed for over 10,000 days (over 27 years).

I'll forgive you if you don't recall this 5th studio album released by the band in August 2019. Yes, 2019, as in over 10 years since their last new music. As if that wasn't enough of a hurdle to staying top-of-mind, their two singles for the album were the title track and "Pneuma" which clocked in at 10:21 and 11:53, respectively, continuing their bit of being on of the least commercially-viable bands in recent memory.

Danny Carey: multiple-side projects (Zaum, Volto!, Green Jello, Pigface), occasionally teaching drumming schools and popping up at numerous sporting events for his beloved Kansas Jayhawks. Justin Chancellor: Laid pretty low, some minor work with his side-project (MTVoid) and frequenting his beloved Chelsea Football Club's games whenever possible. Adam Jones: laid extremely low as far as public events go. Guest appearances on some friends' albums, mostly raised his kids, and continued his interests in photography and art, appeared at a debut of his wife's art gallery.

The debut album from April 1993, largely a reissue of their 1993 EP Opiate, with some tracks that didn't make that cut. The big single here is "Sober". Released at the height of popularity for grunge music and while pop punk was slowly beginning to gather mainstream attention. AllMusic tipped the album's limited success to the "striking, haunting visuals that complemented the album's nihilistic yet wistful mood." The cover art was a grainy photo of a sculpture of a ribcage that the band's guitarist, Adam Jones, had made.
