*FIRE, SMOKE OR FUMES
1. Don oxygen - AS REQUIRED
2. Isolate affected equipment
If source cannot be immediately isolated
3. GEN switches- Off
The warning discussing generators and turning them on or off tied to FIRE SMOKE OR FUMES
The generator should not be turned on or off in the presence of fuel fumes or fuel vapors.
ALL electrical wiring and equipment shall be checked for:
a. Proper security.
b. Chafing wires.
c. Charred wiring.
d. Presence of fuses.
e. Chafing hydraulic lines.
ACO Preflight Warnings all 3
• Helmet shall be worn when inspecting the top of the aircraft.
• Environmental conditions or aircraft position may dictate that these preflight procedures be performed through the CIC ditching hatch while standing on the ACO seat.
• It is possible to insert the CIC ditching hatch backwards. This may cause the hatch to jam in place or fall out in flight.
Dashpot
360 ±10 PSI
*SMOKE OR FUMES ELIMINATION
*1. PERSONNEL AIR COND switch — ON
*2. SIDE WINDOW DEFOG- MAX
Failure to immediately recognize and execute BLD AIR HOT CAUTION LIGHT(S) IN FLIGHT or...
Failure to immediately recognize and execute BLD AIR HOT Caution Light(s) In Flight or BLEED AIR LEAK — CABIN procedures may result in extremely hot bleed air causing cabin over-pressurization, component failure, smoke, and/or fire. Indications include: loud bang, odor normally associated with engine anti-ice, popping eardrums, rapid temperature/pressure increase, and sound of rushing air disrupting radio and ICS communications.
DTSK
a. Mode — A2.
b. Key — AS REQUIRED.
c. CB — IN.
What may the fuselage bleed air valve be?
The fuselage bleed air valve may be hot.
Flaps
a. Flaps, screwjacks, and heat shield — SECURE.
b. CSFIR flap position wire — SECURE OR COMPLETELY REMOVED.
*SMOKE OR FUMES FROM AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM
*1. PERSONNEL AIR COND switch — OFF
*2. Don oxygen — AS REQUIRED
Warning within Bailout concerning cabin pressure altitude and jettisoning the MEH
Prior to jettisoning door, ensure that cabin pressure altitude is within 2,000 feet of aircraft altitude – the PFD cabin differential (DIFF) box will change to green. Time to depressurize is 10 seconds at 20,000 feet and 15 seconds at 35,000 feet when using both the RAM AIR VALVE and the CABIN PRESS DUMP switch. Failure to reduce cabin pressure will prevent retraction of door pins.

Ensure the DRAWER INTLK circuit breaker is engaged and drawers are properly installed before applying external electrical power to the aircraft. Failure to engage this circuit breaker causes the drawer locking pins to be inoperable.
Hell hole
a. Actuators — SECURITY/EXCESSIVE LEAK.
b. FOD/hydraulic fluid — CHECK.
c. Crash Survivable Flight Incident recorder (CSFIR) — SECURE.
d. EMIRS WRAs — CHECK.
*BAILOUT
*1. Inform crew
*2. Don oxygen/emergency oxygen — AS REQUIRED
*3. Depressurize cabin
*4. MEH — JETTISON
*5. EMIRS cable — SEVER IF EXTENDED
If EGEN is not available, Flaps can only be operated in the FEC via the emergency hydraulic mode of operation. If both engines were secured via the T-handle, the windmilling propeller’s T-handle must be pushed back to the IN position and its condition lever to RUN for the EGEN to be able to operate. Do not return any T-handle to the IN position if that engine was secured for FIRE.
EMIRS Emergency Backup Seal
PROPERLY STOWED or INSTALLED IN FUNNEL
Clogged vent line....
Clogged vent line could possibly cause dual engine flameout due to fuel starvation.
EMIRS
a. PTS fairing — SECURE.
b. PTS Window — CLEAN.
c. EDS Camera — CLEAN.
d. EMIRS Ball/Uplock mechanism — PROPERLY STOWED or BALL REMOVED/HOOP CLOSED.
*DITCHING
*1. LDG GEAR — UP
*2. FLAPS — AS REQUIRED
*3. MAX RUDDER — AS REQUIRED
*4. Ditching hatches — OPEN/REMOVE
*5. Harness — LOCKED
During electrical arcing or fire, KAPTON wiring/Teflon...
During electrical arcing or fire, KAPTON wiring/Teflon coating may generate toxic fumes (colorless, odorless) causing irritation to nose and throat. Excessive inhalation of these fumes may result in heart palpitations and death within 4 to 6 hours.
Check top of aircraft for:
a. Missing/loose panels, fuel caps.
b. Port/Stbd Prop Servicing Panel — Fasteners secure, panel flush with nacelle.
c. V/C scoop clear of FOD and covers.
d. Wing Fold Flags — UNOBSTRUCTED.
e. Rotodome for grease, cracks, security of access covers. Inspect forward and aft fixed fairings for security.
f. FWA for security.
g. On aircraft with system installed, BLOS LGA — INTEGRITY.
If the survival kit release ripcord pin has retracted.....
If the survival kit release ripcord pin has retracted, the survival kit may fall from the A/P22P-20 parachute assembly as soon as the parachute is removed from the seat. This will result in the survival kit dragging behind the aircrew and possibly prevent successful bailout.
Wheelwell and mainmount.
a. Oil cooler door — SECURE.
b. Forward timer check valve/Striker bolt — SECURE/SAFETY WIRED.
c. Starting air duct — CLEAR.
d. Engine access drop down panel — SECURE.
e. Uplock microswitch and J hook — SECURE.
f. Aft timer check valve — SECURE/NO LEAKS.
g. Ground lock — REMOVED
