Gifts of the Holy Spirit

This gift allows a man or woman to be directed by God in matters necessary for his/her salvation.
What is counsel?
This fruit is is lasting and an active choice of attitude. We “rejoice” because in Christ we have redemption
What is joy?
To renounce evil and embrace that which is good, as we are sorry for our sins, and strive to do God’s will.
What is goodness?
A practical wisdom that empowers one to be good and to act well in daily affairs, both ordinary and extraordinary. Right reason in action.
What is prudence?
They will see God.
The clean/pure in heart.
This is both the knowledge of and judgment about “divine things” and the ability to judge and direct human affairs according to divine truth.
What is wisdom?
In Christ, we have this fruit in the knowledge that He is in control.
What is peace?
Overflowing with the Holy Spirit we are called to be generous with our gifts and talents for the betterment of others.
What is generosity?
The virtue that consists of a constant and firm will to give God and neighbor their due.
What is justice?
They will inherit the land.
What are the meek?
This gift denotes a firmness of mind in doing good and in avoiding evil.
What is Fortitude?
By treating others with thoughtfulness and tolerance, we are capable of demonstrating our ability to resist temptation, and the need for God’s mercy and forgiveness.
What is patience?
This "gift" allows us to have a penetrating insight into the very heart of things, especially those higher truths that are necessary for our eternal salvation.
What is understanding?
The moral virtue that ensures firmness in difficulties and constancy in the pursuit of the good.
What is fortitude?
They will be comforted.
This gift gives us the ability to judge correctly about matters of faith and right action.
What is knowledge?
The willingness to do more for others than they do for you.
What is kindness?
The ability to resist temptations of all kinds and to exercise moderation of all things.
What is self control?
The moral virtue that moderates the attraction of pleasures and provides balance in the use of created goods.
What is temperance?
For the kingdom of heaven is theirs?
What are the poor in spirit and thse who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness?
