Besides items that need to be confiscated, you should also check for these 6 things.
- Evidence of a resident(s) residing in a space in which they are not assigned
- Excessive trash, food scraps, dirty utensils, empty food/beverage containers, and other issues that may attract bugs/rodents.
- Instances of mold or mildew
- Maintenance issues such as broken lightbulbs or broken furniture
- Furniture that does not belong there (lobby furniture)
- Safety Sensor on Microwave
When confiscating an item you should always fill this out and place the item here (4 steps)
Fill out a confiscation tag, tear off the small piece and leave where item was taken from, zip tie (or tape) confiscation information tag to the item, place it to Ryors Staff Office.
During a HSI, you and your co-RA key into a room and find a sweet little bunny. You don't know if the bunny is registered as an ESA. What steps can you take?
- Contact Prostaff to verify if the bunny is approved
- If the bunny is not approved, you must fail the room and inform the resident that they need to remove the bunny within 48 hours.
- Submit an IR.
- Plan a time to come reinspect the room.
