Explain how consuming Alcohol affects either the Gaba or the Glutamate receptors in the body?

Gaba: Ethanol attaches to Gaba receptors and increases Gaba activity. When this happens it keeps the Gaba channels open and allows more negative ions to flow into the cell. This makes the cell less responsive.

Glutamate: Ethanol attaches to Glutamate receptors and decreases their activity. When this happens the Glutamate channels are restricted which prevents positive ions from entering the cell. This makes the cell less responsive
