NO! Work is not a valid excuse for any event, but especially not chapter. Chapter has been at the same time for years, so you are expected to come and not schedule a shift during that time.

What are the three different special statuses for collegiate members?

Leave of Absence, Special Status-On Campus, and Special Status-Off Campus.

What is Quorum and why is it important?

A quorum must be established for the Chapter to conduct business at meetings. A majority of the Chapter members eligible to vote must be present in order for a quorum to be established.

You can eat the food at the house during live-out dinners on Monday nights before chapter and during live-out lunches on Wednesdays.

Give 3 reasons a collegiate member may be placed on probation.

  1. Violation of the Fraternity Constitution, Bylaws, Standing Rules, or Book of Policies;

  2. Conduct which renders a member’s presence in her chapter detrimental to the harmony, standing and best interests of the chapter and the Fraternity;

  3. Obvious and persistent refusal to cooperate with the chapter;

  4. Failure to meet chapter, housing, corporation, or fraternal financial obligations;

  5. Financial inability;

  6. Failure to live in chapter housing;

  7. Failure to perform the duties of her office;

  8. Failure to achieve chapter academic requirements as defined by the chapter bylaws for two consecutive terms; or

  9. Any action or omission which may jeopardize the health, safety, or welfare of any other members(s).

Read Article V Section 7. Recruitment Absences

Attendance at all recruitment activities, including workshops, planning seminars, work parties, retreats, other planning and preparation sessions, and at all formal recruitment activities is mandatory. Excused absence requests must be presented in writing to the Vice President of Membership Integrity and approved by that officer and the Recruitment Adviser or another adviser designated by the Chapter Adviser at least 60 days in advance of the anticipated absence.

Can I miss study tables today?

No! Texting an officer is not an excuse from a mandatory event. New members and those on academic probation are required to attend study tables and must submit a valid excuse through Greek Connect in order to miss a day.

Members not in good standing shall attend all Chapter meetings and required activities unless otherwise noted in probation terms.  They may not:

  1. Have the privilege of voice and vote (A member with a registered learning disability being addressed by the WSU Access Center or documented mental health diagnosis who is on international probation for academics will not lose her right to vote during meetings or membership selection).

  2. Propose or discuss names for membership.

  3. Be elected to a Chapter or Panhellenic position.

  4. Attend social functions.

  5. Be assigned a little sister.

What is required for anyone to present at chapter?

Any member who has business to present during the Chapter meeting must first present her business to the Executive Team.

Billings and payments will be subject to the following:

  1. All dues and fees will be billed using re:members and all payments must be made via Billhighway.

  1. Invoices will be posted to Billhighway on the 1st of the month and will be due on the 10th of the month.  A late fee will be assessed if all charges are not paid in full by the 15th of the month.  Mid-month invoices may be posted as necessary and will be due 10 days after posting.  A late fee will be assessed if an invoice is not paid within 15 days of posting.

  1. Fines will be assessed within two weeks of the fineable event and must be paid within thirty days of the assessment date.

  1. Any member who submits a check or payment with insufficient funds will be required to pay any insufficient fund fees assessed by the banking institution and/or Billhighway.
