Any collection of facts, information, or physical details that helps prove whether an idea or theory is true.
Evidence
A document or physical object that was written or created by someone during the time period being studied.
Primary Source
Strongly favoring one point of view over others, often in a way that is one-sided or unfair.
Bias
The science that deals with past human life by examining the physical objects and places people left behind.
Archaeology
A document created after the time period being studied using primary sources to write about it (e.g., Radio/TV documentaries, Books).
Secondary Source
The shared beliefs, traditions, language, arts, food, and daily ways of life of a group of people.
Culture
An object made, used, or changed by a human being.
Artifact
A person's unique point of view, shaped by who they are, their culture, experiences, age, background, and values.
Perspective
A complex society with organized government, cities, social structures, technology, and writing systems.
Civilization
