contrast
use of elements that conflict with one another; creates interest.
form
a 3 dimensional figure (has length, width and depth); forms are fat.
Unity
how well different parts of a piece artwork build on each other.
proportion
a measurement of size and quantity of elements within a composition.
texture
the quality of a surface; how it feels or what may be sensed by touch.
Movement
path which moves the veiwers eye throughout.
pattern
showing consistency with lines or patterns.
color
pertains to the use of hue in an artwork.
Balance
equality wether symmetrical,asymmetrical or radial.
line
the path of a moving point taking any form along the way.
value/tone
refers to the use of light or dark,shade or highlight in an artwork.
Variety
use of different forms or types;notable use of contrast.
shape
a 2 dimensional figure (has length and width); can be geometric or free-form/organic; shapes are flat.
space
are used for a particular purpose; can be positive or negative.
