Set joystick to zero, disengage. Determine which engine has overheated.

Notify crew of casualty.

Crew member observes exhaust on transom for raw water discharge.

Coxswain secures engine showing the alarm if the jacket water temperature exceeds 211 degrees.

Verify position, evaluate situation, and notify command.

Engine high water temperature 

Reduce RPM to clutch ahead.

Identify affected engine.

Check gauges for alarms. If temperature is not reduced, place affected engine in neutral.

Notifies crew to investigate and report status.

Have a crew member check cooling system discharged.

Secure affected engine if necessary.

Verify position, evaluate situation, and notify command.
