This surgical provider is the team physician for the Miami City Ballet and the most senior provider on this team. He is also notably not on the algorithm currently and must have every intake/case for him sent for review.

Our trauma team can see patients for all types of fractures. But there are 5 they cannot treat. That's why finger fractures and toe fractures are referred to this team

These are the two body parts that our Total Joint physicians focus on treating DJD/arthritis in patients and possibly have surgical replacements.
This doctor on the team has become the de-facto leader of the group. He also has a PA named Andres Montenegro. (He's also one of the few doctors that can perform a Total Elbow Replacement)
Who is Dr. Roy Cardoso?
Although his subspecialty in our practice is Sports Medicine, this specialist will sometimes treat other patient issues like foot, hands, and even spine at Mariners Hospital (MH) in Tavernier which we also refer to as the Upper Keys (UK).
Who is Dr. Papp?
This provider from PCSM is the head physician of that team. He's also one of the team providers for the Miami Dolphins (the only non-surgeon to do so).
Who is Dr. Michael Swartzon?
The Trauma team takes on a lot of Fracture related cases, both active/recent and post-traumatic issues such as non-union, mal-union, infections, and arthritic issues. But this Dr. has a reputation for taking on the most challenging cases.
Who is Dr. Charles Jordan?
Of the surgeons in this group, he is the most requested doctor from Total Joints. He also has a PA named Ricky Lo and is currently not seeing new patients for Knees.
Who is Dr. Alexander Van Der Ven?
Although this provider does NOT treat elbows, this doctor not only is apart of our Hands/Wrist team. He also works in tangent with the Miami Cancer Institute as a Plastic Surgeon.
Who is Dr. Matthew Treiser?
Although Dr. Uribe is the head honcho Founder of Baptist Health Orthopedic Care, his two cofounders are these two Sports Medicine surgeons. One is the team physician for the FIU athletes and the other is the Medical Director of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Athletic League.
Who are Drs. Keith Sheldon Hechtman and John Zvijac?
In PCSM, this doctor is the only one who works as a member of MNI (Miami Neuroscience Institute), but we can schedule with him just like we can with the rest of the PCSM team.
Who is Dr. Raul Rosario Concepcion?
When it comes to Spine Fractures, those do not go to the Trauma team. Instead it goes to this Doctor as well as his ARNP from time to time. (Double credit for both names)
Who are Dr. Jose Mena and Juan Alfonso ARNP?
This is the only provider from this team that works with Miami Cancer Institute where he focuses on oncological issues. These include benign bone lesions or sarcomas. He also is the only provider on this team with two PAs (one for ortho and one for oncology).
Who is Dr. Giovanni Paraliticci?
This Doctor does not host clinic here since she travels between our offices in the Keys (including our most recently added office in Key West).
Who is Dr. Annie Plate?
With some exceptions here and there, most of the surgeons of the Sports Medicine team are able to see and treat patients for these three body parts.
What are knees, shoulders, and elbows?
Between the previously mentioned PCSM doctors and Drs. Kryriacou and Yurubi, they can all treat patients with these two types of conservative treatment methods before surgery becomes an option.
What are injections and ordering physical therapy?
The trauma team will see most types of fractures in the musculoskeletal system. Skull fractures are referred to the ER immediately, Finger Fractures go to the Hand/Wrist Team, and Toe Fractures go to the Foot/Ankle Team. But rib fractures are referred to this group and their contact info can be found on this page.

For patients who have never been treated for knee or hip pain who want to see Dr. Suarez or Dr. Van Der Ven, this PA works as a float that can see patients for work-up.
Who is Francisco "Frank" Garcia?
These two providers are float for the Hand/Wrist Team. They can provide work-up for patients with new hand/wrist related injuries and pain, but cannot see post-op patients without prior approval.
Who are Jose Manuel "Manny" Rodriguez-Leiva, ARNP and Amy Lee-Bodden, PA?
Although Sports Medicine mostly treats injuries such as ACL tears and Bicep ruptures, the majority of the surgeons on this team can also provide this type of joint replacement (and the reverse one too) for this joint.
What is a Total Shoulder Replacement?
Each Foot and Ankle Surgeon has a PA that works directly with them. Dr. San Giovanni (TSG) has Adrianna Raudes and Dr. Chapman is linked to Lazaro Rodriguez. But these two PA's are extra resources in this Surgical team. *will get full credit for one of the two*
Who are Ean Phillips and Michael Santoro?
If pt calls with a diagnostic result of Osteopenia or Osteoporosis from a recent Bone Density exam (also known as a DEXA exam), they will be referred to our Bone Health Clinic hosted by these ARNPs.
Who is April Tschumy, ARNP and Yasmine Canela ARNP?
The most senior member of the group only sees knees (NO HIPS). His PA is Oliver Lee.
Who is Dr. Francisco Borja?
Our newest Hand/Wrist doctor Diaz-Garcia can also have his assistant see patients for work-up to.
