I pump your blood and never rest, inside your chest I do my best.
Heart
I pull in air and push it out, without me, you’d surely shout!
Lungs
I copy DNA just like a twin, I help divide cells from within.

I’m in your blood, red and round, I carry gas as I move around.
Red blood cell
I’m not alive, yet I can spread, I hijack cells and make you dread.
Virus
I’m the green in every tree, I trap the sun for energy.
Chlorophyll or Chloroplast
I twist and turn and move around, muscles pull me, joint by joint I’m found.
Skeleton
I’m in your skin and sense what’s near, I let you touch, I help you hear.
Nerve
I’m made of sugar, phosphate, and base, a spiral ladder that life can trace.
DNA
I absorb the water from your food, I’m in your gut — I set the mood.
Large intestine
I connect bone to bone with ease, I help your joints to bend and please.
Ligament
I’m one cell splitting into two, a baby life begins with you.
Fertilized egg (zygote)
I let you grow, I let you change, I’m a chemical with powerful range.

I’m the part of the plant that makes its food, I need the sun to change the mood.

I’m where water and minerals rise, from root to leaf, I climb and rise.
