This is a person whose strong character enables sacrifices for the team and the pursuit of long-term goals.

This Core Value is the willingness to do what is right, even when no one is looking.
What is Integrity First?
This phrase begins the Cadet Oath.
What is “I pledge that I will serve faithfully in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program”?
The salute traces its origin to friendly knights performing this action so they could show their faces.
What is raising the visor of the helmet?
The book says wearing the uniform is this, not a right.
What is a privilege?
Warriors defend this valuable possession by promising themselves they will not lie, cheat, or steal.
What is personal honor?
This Core Value places the needs of the team and the people CAP helps ahead of individual wants and desires.
What is Volunteer Service?
In the Oath, this commitment immediately follows the pledge to serve faithfully.
What is attending meetings regularly?
Because this was the sword hand, raising it in greeting became a sign of trust.

Whenever a cadet wears the uniform, that cadet represents not only themselves but these two organizations.

This benefit of the warrior spirit provides freedom from shame and embarrassment and allows pride in one’s actions.
What is a clear conscience?
This Core Value calls for a best effort, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous self-improvement.
What is Excellence in All We Do?
In the Oath’s context, being faithful means being true and doing this.

Salutes are normally exchanged in this location.

Drill teaches cadets to value these two team qualities.
