If a producer wants to switch to a different NMA prior to receiving their writing number, they do not need a release. The producer should send in written notification to uhpcred@uhc.com to stop the contracting process with the first NMA and submit contracting paperwork from the new NMA.

If an upline’s license expires in a state will the downline’s appointments be cancelled?
Yes. Since everyone in the hierarchy needs to be licensed and appointed in the state of sale if an upline’s license expires the downline’s appointments will be cancelled. The NMA/FMO is copied on the communications where an appointment has been terminated so the producer and the NMA/FMO can work together to resolve any discrepancies or concerns and, if needed, reassign the producer’s hierarchy.
How does an agent go from a Direct to UHC agent to an EDC agent?
The Direct to UHC agent would work with their desired upline to complete and submit all new contracting paperwork. Once the paperwork is received then ALM will work with the MGM to obtain a release.

If an upline is inquiring on how to submit an Add State Request then they likely do not have access to submit the request. ALM has trained uplines who have access to submit requests. If an uplines asking how to submit a request direct them to their upline to submit the request.
