Freshmen--The goal is for you to become a stronger, more confident, and more reflective reader, writer, and citizen. Work each day on the 7 habits of Lit & Comp.
Sophomore--Learn how people living in diverse parts of the world see many issues differently from you and the people you know. Learn to use multiple perspectives when looking at plot, conflict, and language. Enhance test-taking skills and learn new test taking strategies. Become familiar with the process of writing a research paper.

What is one way that an English class can prepare you for the real world? Please provide one specific example.
English lessons, activities, and assignments are designed to teach you how to read and interpret texts critically, gather data, evaluate sources, create and support an argument, develop reasoning and analysis skills, and communicate clearly and effectively.
