Come in quietly, take out materials and start warm-up/bell ringer.
What do you do when the teacher, or a student she called on, is speaking?

What do you do when you can't get your locker open?
Ask a friend or teacher to help.
When can you go to the bathroom?
When we are NOT in the middle of an activity or direct instruction, after lunch, before transitioning between classes, or in an emergency!
How should you stand in line before class?
Facing the front, lined up against the wall, and completely quiet.
Are you allowed to eat in class?
No, unless I give you a treat or give you permission.
When I am teaching, our voices are at what level?
Zero!
What item is not allowed to be out at any time?
Cellphones
What do you do if you need your pencil sharpened?
Get up quietly and calmly, go to the pencil sharpener, and sharpen the pencil.
When can you not go to the bathroom?
During the first and last 10 minutes of class, when we are in the middle of an activity or direct instruction.
What should you do if you are absent?
Check Google Classroom and talk to Ms. Burns about what you missed.
What 3 things do you need for this class almost every day?
A pencil, a charged MacBook, and your folder.
What should you use to write with on classwork?
A pencil.
When announcements begin, what should you do?
Stop what you're doing, be quiet and listen attentively.
What do you do if you need a tissue?
How do you enter the classroom?
Walk quietly to your seat, follow directions, and start your warm-up or bell-ringer.
When should I use my MacBook or keep it open?
When we are actively using them in class, or when I am given permission to be on it.
How do you show that you have an answer or comment in class?
Raise your hand quietly and wait to be called on!
What is never permitted at school or in this class?
Cellphones!
What does "follow directions the first time" mean?
Follow directions immediately; listen and do what the teacher asks you to do the first time.
What is another rule that we have not already gone over?
Always be kind and respectful!
What happens if you refuse to do any work in Ms. Burns's class?
I will call your parents/guardians, and you will get a detention.
What do you do when you need a pencil?
Raise your hand, ask a friend, or Ms. Burns for a pencil.
What happens if your work is missing?
You have until the end of the unit to turn it in. After that, it is permanently a zero in the gradebook.
Where should we keep our hands and feet?
To ourselves!
Your friend needs a pencil. He sits a few rows away from you. How do you give it to him?
Raise your hand, Stand up, walk over to him, and hand it to him nicely.
