Why is using a one way valve mask an important thing to remember when delivery ventilations during CPR?
Because it protects the rescuer from the victim's body fluids and bloodborne pathogens
How can you tell the difference between a complete and an incomplete airway blockage?
Complete--air is still moving, and incomplete, no sound..no air moving
If an adult is breathing ok and is concious, is CPR necessary?
No.
If child sized pads aren't available in an AED, but your victim is a young child, what should you do?
Use adult pads to deliver the shock, but place them as you would child pads.
When performing CPR on an infant why shouldn't you hold it's head back too far? What is the correct position called?
It can close the airway--correct position is called the "sniff position"
What happens if you do not allow the chest to fully recoil (come back up from the compression) before you compress again?

Hurting them, or pushing too hard and breaking bones

Dry them off the best you can, and make sure they are not in a "puddle" of standing water before you shock.

In one arm, resting on forearm, with your knee as a support. Start with face down with back blows, then turn infant over, holding slightly downward and perform chest thrusts. Repeat.
