Explain the entire cellular respiration process

  1. Glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm. It produces 2 ATP. This is quick energy. Fermentation can also occur here and is used in quick energy production. Glucose then breaks into 2 pyruvate. The pyruvate is also broken into then, 2  ACETYL CoA.  2 NADH occur. 2 ATP and 2 LActic Acid can occur here for lactic acid fermentation.

  2.  We move into the Krebs Cycle that is in the mitochondrial matrix. 2 ATP.

  3. From there, the ACOA produces CO2, 2 ATP, 6 NADH and FADH2.

  4. Those Electron carriers move deeper into the mitochondrial membrane, where 32-36 ATP occurs.
