Classroom Procedures
When I need to use the bathroom I think through these 4 things.
1. Is the teacher talking to the whole class?
2. Is it within the permissible time (not first or last 10 minutes)?
3. Is there a blue card opportunity available?
4. Is the bathroom pass (toilet) available?
In Small Group I will use this type of language.
Academic language and/or respectful language towards my teacher and peers.
I can read in one of these 3 ways.
1. Paperback Book
2. Audiobook with Paperback
3. E Book or E Read
When I log onto the Student App and check my headphones I will check these 4 things.
1. F4 is on
2. Check the sound icon in the bottom right of the computer
3. Check the sound is allowed through the browser in the search bar or on the pop up tab.
4. My volume is up on the computer and headset.
When in Whole Group this is off limits.
The bathroom
If I need a pencil, I will do this procedure from beginning to end.
Small Group will be led by this person.
Mrs. NeSmith
Within my Lexile Range.
When doing the student app I will also do this.
Fill out my Student App Log.
If I am absent during whole group, I must have this to be able to make up my work.
An Excused Absence.
Instead of arguing in class with Mrs. NeSmith, I will do this.
I will write her a respectful note either on Canvas or on paper and put it in her "Mrs. NeSmith Cares" box to explain myself fully.
If I do not finish my work in small group then I will do it here.
For Homework
Write the title on the 3x5 card in my folder.
When I am in the student app rotation I will not do the following 4 things.
4. Get on my phone.
Whole Group papers will be put in this part of my folder.
Whole/Small Group Pocket
I will do the following with the headphones.
I will be gentle with them and either leave them on the desk with the whole cord on top of the desk or I will put them in the basket under my desk with the whole cord tucked in.
Go to the bathroom.
I will fill one of these out every time I sit down to read my book.
A Reading Log
When I am in the Student App, I will complete the following Zones in each segment.
Explore, Reading, Language, Fluency, Writing, Success
Whole Group will happen on these days of the week.
Tuesdays and Thursdays.
When I come into class, I will have two minutes to do the following 6 things. (You must name at least 3 to get the points)
1. Collect all of the materials I need.
2. Put my phone either in my backpack, the phone slots or the phone lockers.
3. Take out my personal headphones.
4. Put my backpack in the front of the room.
5. Check for my groups starting rotation.
6. Take a seat with a "ready to learn" attitude.
Small Group is where I will get this.
Direct Instruction and/or teaching from Mrs. NeSmith
When I finish a book or reading I will do these two things.
2. Take the quiz.
The Student App Conversation Level should be this.
Silent or whispering to get a classmate's help if needed. But academic talk only.
If I am participating in whole group and being studious I might receive these.
