What is Cosmeceuticals?
AHA derived from Grapes; an antioxidant, with the ability to protect the skin from free radical damage specifically from the sun.
What is Tartaric Acid?
AKA Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract. A powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.
What is Green Tea?
Absorbs excess oil in the skin and increases circulation. Used in clay masks.
What is Kaolin Clay?
Makeup the majority of a product; they allow products to spread and give them body and texture.
What are Functional Ingredients?
A complex protein that dissolves keratin (dead skin cells) and is used as an exfoliant and antioxidant; milder than AHA's & BHA's.
What is an Enzyme?
An inorganic sunscreen that reflects UVA & UVB rays, providing a protective barrier to the skin.
What is Zinc Oxide?
Primarily lightens pigmentation; also used as an anti-irritant for sensitive skin.
What is Licorice Extract?

Natural form of Vitamin A; stimulates cell repair and new cell production. It has antioxidant and exfoliating properties. Can be irritating to the skin.
What is Retinol?
Artificial preservative; added to prevent and reduce the growth of harmful bacteria and mold, increasing the shelf life of the product.
What are Parabens?
AHA derived from citrus fruits; has astringent & antioxidant properties and is a natural preservative.
A surfactant with foaming capabilities; it can also be used as an emulsifying agent. It is frequently found in skin cleansers.
What is Ammonium Laureth Sulfate?
A solvent that is a degreaser, non-comedogenic, and is occasionally used a prepping solution on the skin.

Ingredients that attract water to the skin's surface, reducing dehydration.

BHA derived from sweet birch, willow bark and wintergreen. Has exfoliating, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. Often used in acne products.
