Within the Ocerios boss fight we see the Consumed King cradling something in his left arm. Upon closer inspection he appears to just be holding air. Though we later found out within the cut content that the invisible texture is actually that of this referenced character in the lore.

We were chosen undead that failed to link the first flame or chose not to in our age of fire. Though a common and popular theory is that Lothric and I are connected in some way, and that he schemed to stop us from linking the first flame.
