What is a pictograph?
A graph that include symbols to show data and a key.
What is a bar graph?
a graph that includes bars to represent data/
What is a statistical question?
A question that is directed towards a group of people that has more than one numbered or worded answer.
What is scale?
What is a tally table?
A table that uses tally marks to show data collected from a survey.
How do you read a pictograph?
You look at the number of symbols per each category and also read they key to see how many each symbol represents.
How do you label a bar graph?
categories

Why do we ask statistical questions?
To learn something about that specific group of people.

Why is it helpful to use pictures in a pictograph?
The pictures make the graph easy to read

Why did we use a scale of 12 instead of a scale of 1 for our paperclips in a cup activity? (Remember we had 96 paperclips in the cup).
Because our number was too big to go up by one, going up by 12 allowed us to fit all of our data in our graph.

when we collect data from a survey- to help keep track of the data collected to put into a graph
How can pictographs be used to show data about your favorite animals?
You can use a symbol to show how many votes were collected for each animal in the survey.
When might you choose to use a bar graph instead of a pictograph?
when you have a larger number of categories and people to compare.
