The people went back to their sinful ways of breaking the covenant.

Why did God not wipe out everyone in the flood?
He promised Eve that her seed would crush the snake. He always preserves a remnant. Noah found favor in God’s eyes.
Why was Abram confident and willing to sacrifice Isaac?
He knew that God had promised him this son and he believed God could raise him from the dead.

Conditional.
Why were the Israelites supposed to kick out the other inhabitants of the land?
They were VERY sinful. So they wouldn’t become like them.
