* Always starts with producers.
* Flow of energy from one organism to another.
* Amount of energy decreases the further away from the producers you get.
* Primary energy source is the sun
What is Food Chain?
* Herbivore- eats plants
* Omnivore- eats plants and animals
* Prey- hunted by a predator
What is a Primary Consumer?
* Bacteria * Fungi
* Mushrooms * Worms
What is a Decomposer?
Lichen, moss, cold, dry, polar bears, arctic foxes, snow rabbits.
What is a Tundra?
* Ocean, sea
* Largest variety of organisms of any ecosystem.
What is Marine?
* Omnivore- eats plants and animals
* Carnivore- eats animals
* Predator- hunts prey
What is a Secondary Consumer?
* Eat animals that have already been
killed.
What is a Scavenger?
Ferns, large leaf plants, tall trees, warm, heavy rainfall, wet, monkeys, snakes, jaguars, insects, frogs. Nutrient rich soil.
What is the Tropical Forest?
* Where a river meets the ocean.
* Fresh and saltwater present.
What is Estuary?
* Carnivore- eats animals
* Predator- hunts prey
What is a Tertiary Consumer?
Trees with leaves that fall off as the seasons change. Bears, coyote, raccoons, birds, squirrels, deer. Medium amount of rain, nutrient rich soil.
What is the Temperate Forest?
Lots of grass, shrubs, small trees, birds, prairie dogs, hawks, rabbits, medium amounts of rainfall.
