Describe how water moves throughout Earth and the atmosphere. You may use the parts of the water cycle in your answer.
The sun heats up water on Earth. The water starts to evaporate and condenses into clouds. Clouds will become heavy enough, which allows for precipitation. As precipitation occurs, the water falls back down to Earth. Then, the water flows through run-offs, which lead back to the ocean or other bodies of water. Or the water goes through the process of infiltration in which it seeps into the Earth's soil.
Provide an example of how radiation, conduction, and convection work all together in daily life.
Sample answer: boiling water. The heat from the flame is radiation. The heat from the flame then heats up the stove, which is conduction. As the water boils, this is demonstrating convection.
Describe a real life example of when potential and kinetic energies work together in daily life.
Sample answer: Bow and arrow. Pulling back the arrow is potential energy as it is stored energy and has the potential to move. Once the bow is released, the potential energy is converted to kinetic energy as the bow flies.
