How does receptor-mediated endocytosis work? AND why is it important for the cell to be able to do?
Recpetor Medated Endocytosis uses receptors that are on the outside of the cell membrane. When the desired molecules bind to the receptor, the cell is triggered to perform endocytosis. Useful when you want a molecule that is at a lower concentration outside the cell.
If a mistake happened during the transcation portion of protein synthesis, how would that affect the following steps/stages of folding?
The correct amino acids would not be coded for which would mean that the amino acid stand would not fold correctly and the protein would not be the correct shape.
