If the suction tip has a hole 1 to inches from the tip, close the hole to test that it is working. Then insert the device without using the hole. Add after inserting
If the suction tip does not have a hole, test it by turning it on. Then insert into the patient without the suction turned on. When in fully, turn it on to start the suction. Move around for good coverage. Continue to suction as you exit.

Use a sharps container. Never try to recap an already exposed needle.
