Exodus 20:13
”Thou shalt not kill.”
Does this mean to never kill any living thing? Is going to war murder?
It actually really means “though shalt not MURDER.”
You go the gas station and while you are walking down the candy isle you decide to slip a little candy in your pocket without paying.

What does it mean to “honour thy Father and thy Mother?”
To honor your mother and father means to show deep respect, esteem, and appreciation for them, both in your attitude and actions. It is a command to treat them with kindness rather than mere obligation.

Heavenly Father should be the only God we worship. We are supposed to look to Heavenly father in all aspects of our life and to value our relationship with our Heavenly Father above anything else in this life.

Commandment #3 says “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in VAIN.”
What does that mean? What is an example of that?
Taking the Lords name in vain means treating God’s name with irreverence, using it in worthless/empty ways, or misrepresenting Him. It involves abusing God's name through profanity, insincere worship, false oaths, or justifying personal agendas and evil acts in His name.
-Using Jesus, God or Lord as a curse or filler word
-Saying God told you to do something to justify a selfish act.
-using Gods name to justify war or fighting
Commandment #7 says “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”
What is adultery?
In marriage, a man and a woman promise to love one another and care for one another in a way that they do not love or care for anyone else, and they promise to do this for as long as they're both alive." So adultery is when one person starts loving and caring for another person in the way that they promised to only love and care for their spouse.
When Moses came down from the mountain with the stone tablets the people were worshipping a false God. They had actually made a Golden statue. What was it that they were worshiping?

The tenth commandment is “though shalt not covet.”
What does it mean to covet?
Covet - to intensely or wrongfully desire something that belongs to someone else, or in other words jealousy.

Commandment #9 is “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.”
What is a graven image and why shouldn’t we do that?
to create a carved, sculpted, or molded physical object such as a statue or image to represent a deity or to be worshiped as a god. This is sometimes called idolatry.
We should worship the REAL God and not any sort of object.

Why were there two different sets of stone tablets (or commandments) made?
Exodus 32:19-20
Exodus 34:1
Moses came down and saw that the Jews were worshiping a Golden false God. Moses and God were both angry so Moses destroyed the tablets and the False God.
The Jews were not ready for the higher laws so God rewrote the tablets and gave the Jews the 10 commandments.
