What does it mean to be respectful?
(answers will vary) Treating yourself and others nicely, talking kindly to yourself and others, and listening to others' words.

During independent work time (or anytime when Miss Lane is not teaching)
What are the 3 b's of the school expectations?
Be safe, respectful, and responsible
How can you be safe on the playground? (on equipment and to others)
Following the rules of the equipment and games and keeping hands and feet to self.
What does it look like to be respectful to an adult? (teacher, playground aide, lunchroom lady)
Being respectful to an adult means using kind words and tone, following directions, not talking back, and treating them nicely.
Be responsible by going right to and from destination, quietly, and walking feet.
What do you do if you need scissors? (or coloring utensils or glue or sticky notes)

Go borrow from the classroom supply bins! Put back when done.

What do you do if somebody is in the bathroom when you need to go?
Wait silently on the dot outside of the bathroom.
What happens if you are not safe (put your hands or feet on somebody)?
That person is hurt, you will fill out an apology and think sheet, and be sent to in school suspension.
Why is it important to be respectful to an adult at school?
They are keeping me safe, have rules for a reason, and do not deserve to be treated badly or talked back to.
When the bell rings (and you're outside), what should you do?
Go right to your spot in line, wait quietly, and enter the building at a ZERO!
What can you do during indoor recess?
You have to stay at your seat. Read, write, color, draw, whisper to neighbors, Go Noodle, or a quiet activity. Chromebooks are allowed when Miss Lane says so!
What is your favorite thing about school?
(answers will vary) Reading, talking with friends, recess, lunch, specials *having Miss Lane as a teacher :)*
You are playing on the playground and somebody comes over to you and yells at you and hits you.. What do you do?
Bonus - 1) if you handle it correctly, what happens to them? 2) if you handle it incorrectly, what happens to you too?
I can nicely tell this person to stop, walk/run away, and/or TELL A TEACHER!
Bonus - 1) they get a consequence (loss of recess, reflection sheets, talk with teacher/principal, parents get called) 2) you will also get a consequence
Miss Lane says something you don't want to do.. or you say no to her and she says you have to do something.. What do you do?
I can ask why she is having me do this thing, I can take deep breaths, I can ask for a break, but I have to be respectful and follow directions and not. talk. back.

Make sure my name is on it, turn it into the black turn in bin (or keep it at desk), and read or write silently.
