They can start the exam but will not receive extra time
A student misses an exam due to illness but does not submit a Personal Circumstances (PC) Form until 7 days after the exam. What will happen?
Their absence will be recorded as a non-submission.
What reason would be valid for submitting an academic appeal?
Exam containing errors, unfair marking or unexplained content included in the examination.
If a student leaves the exam room before finishing and attempts to return, what happens?
They are not allowed to re-enter the exam room.
What is the first thing that you should do as soon as you walk in the examination room?
Communication devices must be switched off, placed in personal bag and left at the front of the exam room.
When will referral week take place and what will happen to your marks? If failing of the referral exam occurs, when will you have to attend the ESR?
Week commencing 10th August and will be capped at 40%. ESR will take place in the next academic year.
What is required when submitting an appeal?
A written explanation, supporting evidence, and the result statement
If a student is caught using a mobile phone during an exam, what is the consequence?
The mobile phone will be confiscated, the student is allowed to finish the exam. After the exam a report will be completed and disciplinary action will be taken.
