This Nuclear Medicine study can show doctors how well your heart is working at rest. This scan is often done when a patient is going to start chemotherapy treatment that uses medicines that may be toxic to the heart. These study/scans may be done many times during chemotherapy or after treatment is done to check on your heart health.

Why do we need to create a new HAR for a Self-Pay Appointment?
A HAR (Hospital Account Record) is the account tied to a patient’s visit that organizes billing, charges, and reimbursement. Creating a new HAR ensures same-day appointments proceed without delays or errors and keeps billing and registration accurate.
This scan can show areas of inflammation (swelling and irritation), bleeding, and other problems. The pictures will look at different parts of your small intestine and tissues around it.

With Financial Assistance coverage retiring on July 7th, we now have to mark patients with no other coverages as self-pay. Why is that, if they are approved for Financial Assistance, they are considered self-pay?
Financial Assistance is not truly a coverage and never has been, in the sense that we do not bill Financial Assistance for the services provided to the patient. Financial Assistance is a type of discount that patients can qualify to reduce the out-of-pocket cost of their services, sometimes by up to 100% for certain services. We previously used a coverage in Epic to show that Financial Assistance had been approved, but now this is done entirely through Epic’s Financial Assistance module. You can see Financial Assistance application and approval information in the patient’s storyboard.
This order must be protocoled by an MSK Radiologist before scheduling.

This PET CT is done to assess how much heart muscle has been damaged by a heart attack or heart disease. The scan checks the blood supply to the heart and how well your heart muscle works.

This exam usually takes 20-45 minutes. You may feel warmth in the area where the images are taken. This is normal... You will hear loud tapping or knocking noises during the scan.
