Electronically controlled switch that uses an input voltage at one terminal (gate) to conduct between the other terminals (drain --> source).
What is a MOSFET?
Housed inside the accumulator. One inside each subpack, collects cell temperatures and voltages.
What are the BMS nodes?
Series of manual switches and relays that open the relays and disable the car from entering or staying in HV in the case of a fault.
What is the shutdown circuit?
Tool that supplies current-limited power to a load at a set voltage. Used for bench testing.
What is a power supply?
the guy whose teaching skills and knowledge are almost as impressive as his lucious locks
Who is Calvin?
DC-DC power converter that steps down incoming voltage to a stable output voltage through rapid switching. Used to step down 12V to 5V on our boards.
What is a buck converter?
Houses the HV detect, TSMP resistors, status light drivers, and discharge resistor.
What is the HVI (high voltage interface)?
Primary communication line on the vehicle, used for communicating and controlling vehicle state. Wired from: raspi --> VCU --> cooling module --> PEI --> motor controller.
What is PCAN?
Custom software to this team used to view the cell voltages and temperatures of each subpack in the accumulator.
