1. God's plan is for you?

Before you came to earth, you lived with your heavenly parents. You are their beloved child. In heaven, you learned about God’s plan for His family. You received this plan joyfully because it would help you grow and progress to become more like God by receiving a physical body, being part of an earthly family, and experiencing life on earth. Some of these experiences would be difficult. Our Father knew this, so as part of His plan, He sent a Savior, Jesus Christ, to help you. We call this the plan of salvation or the plan of happiness.

7. Ordinances and covenants give you access to God’s blessings

Your Heavenly Father is eager to teach and bless you. One way He does this is through ordinances like baptism, confirmation, and the sacrament. Through ordinances like these, we make a covenant, or promise, with God. Keeping covenants increases God’s power in your life and helps you prepare for eternal life. This is why ordinances and covenants are precious to us—because they strengthen our connection to our Heavenly Father and our Savior and help us become more like Them.

Jesus Christ is your strength. He has done everything necessary for you to have joy in this life and forever. By choosing Him and His gospel, you are choosing eternal happiness and joy.

Even when you try to do your best to make good choices, sometimes you will make mistakes. You’ll do things you wish you hadn’t. Everyone does. When this happens, it’s easy to feel discouraged or wonder if you will ever be good enough. But there is good news—wonderful, hopeful news! Because God loves you, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who took upon Himself your sins so you can repent, be forgiven, and keep progressing.
