Joseph's brothers were frightened, thinking Joseph would attack them and enslave them over the silver found in their sacks. The brother's guilty consciences led them to expect harsh treatment.
What did Joseph tell his steward to do? (44:1-2)
Joseph told his steward to fill his brothers' bags with as much grain as they could carry, place their payment back in their bags of grain and put Joseph's silver cup in Benjamin's bag.
How is it possible to escape the punishment for our sin?

Do you think the brother's were tested through the situation with the silver cup? and if so how? (44:1-13)
Yes, the plan would reveal how the brothers would respond to Benjamin's arrest, would they take this opportunity to abandon Benjamin to slavery as they had done with Joseph.
