Gifts Pt.1
This Gift enables a person “to overcome difficulties or to endure pain and suffering with the strength and power infused by God.”
What is Fortitude?
This Gift moves our hearts to awe and wonder at God’s awesomeness, and to fear of losing our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
What is Fear of the Lord?
This fruit is more than simply a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection. It is shown through actions by showing care for God and our neighbour.
What is love/charity?
This fruit is shown when we honour God by avoiding sin and always trying to do what we know is right.
What is goodness?
This fruit is when we treat others as we want to be treated.
What is kindness?
This Gift enables us to discern between right and wrong so that we avoid sin and live as God would want us to live
What is Counsel?
This Gift is reverence and worship to God as our Father.
What is Piety?
This fruit is freedom from worrying about trivial things.
What is peace?
This fruit is when people act calmly and avoid actions that might lead others to anger or resentment.
What is gentleness?
This fruit is about being honorable, charitable, and giving to others.
What is Generosity?
This helps us to untie the knots, to straighten out our lives, to deal with our problems. It's letting the Word of God have room in our lives.
What is understanding?
This gift helps us to know ourselves and the world around us. It helps us to know where our faith is leading us and what our church is about. The gift that makes us smart about Ourselves
What is knowledge?
This fruit is the emotion when we recognize that true happiness comes, not from money or possessions, but from knowing and following Christ.
What is joy?
This fruit is control of our desires so we can focus them on what is good and right.
What is self-control?
This fruit is about having humility and reflecting a heart content with God's gifts rather than seeking ambition or attention.
What is Modesty?
The Holy Spirit took on this form at Pentecost (the symbol used to represent the event).
What is fire (or flames)?
This gift helps us to see and understand God’s plan in our lives and in the world. It is a gift that allows a person to understand things from God's point of view.
What is wisdom?
This fruit is the treating of others with thoughtfulness and tolerance. We know that we can overcome the temptations and sufferings of life because God is always with us.
What is patience?
This fruit is demonstrated when we live out our commitment to the teachings of Jesus, the Scriptures, and the Catholic Church. We follow the bible and its teachings.
What is faithfulness?
This fruit is about viewing the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, and respecting the dignity of others.
What is Chastity?
