Unexpected. People can hurt if you are too rough, plus it's against the rules to be physical at school. You want people to feel safe around you.
When you do ask questions of another person you only ask about something that you want to tell them all about. For instance, you ask about Fortine so that you can talk about it for a long time, because you love Fortnite.

What's the hidden rule about cell phones while you are having a conversation with a person in front of you?
You shouldn't be looking at your phone while someone is talking to you.
How can you tell if someone has lost interest in the conversation?
They look away, look unfocused, uninterested, stop asking questions or showing engagement with body language, walk away.
When I hang out with my friends, I always choose the activity.

Not Cool! People like to do different things and it's best to find things you can both enjoy.
You aren't sure exactly what you are supposed to be doing in class. You went to the bathroom and missed part of the directions. You notice that the teacher is busy helping the class. You decide to read the board, ask a classmate, and read the directions on your paper again to help you get more information.

They are looking at you, nodding, asking questions, smiling, listening, adding comments related to the topic.

If someone asks you to stop- you stop! People find it annoying, hurtful, and cruel if you continue even after you're asked to stop, because it obviously bothers them.
Someone asks you about your weekend and continue to talk with a lot of detail for 5 minutes. You don't pause to let them respond or ask them any questions.

Unexpected. A conversation should be back and forth. Give other people a chance to talk and ask them questions.
You love ice cream. The teacher told you that they brought one ice cream sandwich in for every student. You decide to take 3 because they are your favorite.

NOT COOL! You don't take food off of another person's tray without asking. People don't like that. The food does not belong to you, You could be spreading germs by touching their food, and they want their own food. Every once in a while it's ok to ask for a french fry. If you do it everyday, it can get annoying to people.
