What is rolling admission
Colleges review applications and send out decisions as they review applications. There is no hard deadline - students can apply late as the summer but as time goes on and spots fill it may be more selective for students who apply later. Some colleges may offer Early Action & Regular Decision deadlines but be rolling after these deadlines pass (i.e. Marquette)

What is an associate's degree?
2 to 3 years of completion, typically offered at junior or community or technical colleges

Individual applications
Typically in January; students are reviewed for admission and notified typically between mid-February and late March. Some schools no longer accept applications after the Regular Decision deadline
Regular Admission
student is qualified but not able to be admitted yet; may be admitted if space allows. Students are welcome to submit additional information depending on the university

M:1 to 3 years of completion AFTER undergrad Bachelor’s degree required ,A graduate degree that allows students to build advanced knowledge in a particular area

What is early action?
- typically only offered by schools that have a Regular Decision deadline. Early Action is an opportunity for students to apply early (typically by November 1) to indicate their strong interest in a school and be reviewed for admission before Regular Decision applicants. This is non-binding - students can apply Early Action and will have no obligation to enroll at the college if they are admitted. Admission decisions are usually released earlier than Regular Decision decisions, typically in December/early January
Defer
decision given only to students who apply Early Action, Early Decision, or Restrictive Early Action at a school that also has a Regular Decision deadline. This means that the student has not yet been offered admission and they will be reviewed again with the Regular Decision applicants and will receive a decision later in the spring
What is a Major?
The primary academic focus or field of study of one’s bachelor’s degree; depending on the college and the major usually a third to a half of a student’s classes are in or related to their major

Extremely competitive application for higher selective universities, you have to rank and commit!
What is early decision
for students who are ready to commit to that school if they are admitted. This is a binding application - students who apply Early Decision are committing to attend that university if they are admitted
Conditional admit
Student is admitted based on completing specific requirements or conditions - earning a certain GPA, completing certain courses, completing tasks; very rare decision
