Experiences in education can contribute to the self esteem, confidence entering the workforce and sense of identity which are imperative during adolescence to ensure they feel worthwhile and to set them up for a positive, successful future.

Primitive: Tools and methods that were used traditionally and historically to solve problems and enhance human control over the natural and man made environments.
Complex: sophisticated and the most recent / advanced technology (e.g. driverless cars) OR can refer to machines that have multiple functions (e.g. fridge-freezer)

DA was first beginning in 1960s and 1970s and is still ongoing. It refers to the move away from analogue, mechanical and electronic technology. Since this advancement we are now in the IA. It is characterised by the ability of individuals to transfer information freely, and to access knowledge instantly (something that used to be difficult) It has allowed rapid global communications and networking which has shaped modern society.

What is stratified sampling?
To use this method, the researcher first needs to break the population into ‘strata’ groups or divisions based on one particular characteristic or feature, such as education, income level, age or gender.
A stratified sample is then obtained by selecting a simple random sample from each of these groups. The simple random sample can also be based on a proportion of the people in each group.

2 arguments with examples
- Jobs may be threatened by the increased use of robotics, new machinery and computer controlled applications e.g., self service checkouts at Woolworths have decreased the number of employees needed for each shift.
- Industries are now becoming technology reliant. If employees can’t keep up with or adapt to the changes they are often opting to retire earlier than anticipated or change careers. For example, teachers who do not know how to use online learning platforms are, in some cases, leaving the profession.
- Creation of new jobs and industries that design and develop innovative technology. E.g “STEM”
