The document that outlines the educational plan for a student with disabilities.
An IEP
This accommodation is used when a student needs extra time to complete a test or assignment.
Extended Time
This person is generally present once they reach the age of 13 when transition IEP's begin. Input from this person is extremely important, as the meeting is about them.
The student
This is sent out to the parent or guardians usually 1-2 days before the IEP meeting as a reminder of the date, time and location of the meeting.

What does the term IEP stand for?
Individual Education Plan
How frequent are IEP meetings held?
At least once per year.
This accommodation is for a student who uses headphones or has their test read aloud to them.
Oral Administration.
This person or persons are responsible for sharing the student's strengths, needs, and goals, as well as to advocate for the student on their behalf.
The parent or guardian.
How often does progress monitoring take place?
Once per quarter (4 times per year).
This is a service discussed near the end of the IEP meeting if a student needs year round school services due to them not being able to retain or remember information.
Extended School Year Services (ESY)
The meeting that is held annually, or once a year, to update the student's IEP.

This accommodation puts the student near the teacher, otherwise known as the core of instruction.
Preferential Seating
This person schedules your IEP meeting, types up your completed IEP meeting and conducts your meeting with all participants.

Modification: Changes the material that is being taught, or expected to be learned by the student.
A BIP is developed to address a student's behavior that may interfere with his/her learning. What does BIP stand for?

This goal helps you think about your future plans for during and after high school.
Transition Goal
The document parents receive after the IEP meeting is held, prior to the implementation of any changes made to the IEP.
Prior Written Notice (PWN)
To qualify for an IEP majority of students will have documentation of a SLD. What do the letters SLD stand for?
Specific Learning Disability
When completing a test, this may help a student with anxiety not feel so overwhelmed, and could also help a student with ADHD to better concentrate.
Small Group Testing
It is always a good idea to have this person attend the IEP meeting so that future planning and schedules can be discussed. They can also answer questions about high school credits and graduation. However, it is not mandatory for this student to attend.
School Counselor
A student will take four (4) of these courses/classes throughout their high school career, which includes taking a test at the end of the Semester that counts for 20% of your overall grade.
End of course exam (EOC course)
This term describes the right of a student to be educated alongside peers without disabilities to the greatest extent appropriate.
