The park he knew was gone. He saw some old buildings he knew but they were surrounded by new buildings. Everybody was in such a hurry, there were many new vehicles and tall buildings.
Explain why you think everybody was so excited to see the Kamishibai Man again.
It reminded them of their childhood (Nostalgia). They could look at him and see how he was exactly the same and it helped them to remember how much fun they had as children.

R.A.S. I think they are not important because these days our culture is so different. It's interesting to see how things used to be but, after having seen movies and video games, looking at an old fashioned story teller is just so boring.
