Staff need to be in a group of three at all times. It can be 1 staff and 2 children, or 2 staff and 1 child.

Staff is consistently looking around the room and aware of what is happening in front of them. Looking for misbehavior, counting children, and making sure children are safe.
How often do you check an infants diaper?
every 30 minutes

All incidents (accident, illness or behavior) must be documented by completing an Electronic Incident Report.
When is it appropriate to call a parent for diapering/ toilet needs?
When the child does not have diapers or an extra change of clothes. When the child is actively upset and staff cannot calm them down.
When is it appropriate to call a parent?
When the child is sick, has been upset for over 15 minutes and we cannot calm them down, and injury or behavior.
In kids club what are ways we can engage in appropriate child development?
In Kids Club, we can support appropriate child development by providing activities that encourage children to learn, socialize, be creative, and build independence. We can use age-appropriate games, crafts, reading, teamwork, and physical activities while giving children opportunities to make choices and practice new skills. It is also important to create a safe, supportive environment where children feel encouraged and included.
What is our number system?
The child and parent have the same number when being signed in. The child gets a sticker with their name and the number. Parent gets a sticker with the same number. When child is getting picked up we call both name and number to ensure we have the correct child.
If a child gets hurt while in kids club, what is the appropriate procedure?
Check to ensure the child is okay

What is the procedure after a staff changes a diaper?
All staff are responsible for wiping down the changing table after each use with the provided cleaner and disinfectant.

What does hand to hand mean?
Front desk staff holds child hand when walking child to their room. Handing the child's hand to the staff in the appropriate room. Same step leaving the room for pick up.
What are characteristics of child development in children 6 to 11?
Children ages 6–11 become more independent, develop friendships, and improve their thinking, language, and emotional skills. They enjoy being active, exploring new interests, and learning through academic, creative, and social activities.
What are three expectations for kids club staff?
Children must be directly supervised at all times.
Greet children by name when they walk into the room (take time to learn children’s name)
Name to Face counts should be done every 30 minutes and checked against attendance.
Child’s name and assigned number on nametag must be verified before allowing them to exit the room
What are three definite NO's during kids club?
Children cannot under any circumstances be released to someone that is under the age of 18, does not have ID, or is not authorized to pick up
Children should never be allowed out of sight at any time.
Staff should never be 1 on 1 with a child.
Staff should never leave children alone or unattended
Staff cannot under any circumstances baby-sit member’s children.
No eating in the room. Hot beverages must be in a spill-proof container and kept out of reach of children.
Do not talk about a child in front of other children or other parents. Maintain confidentiality.
Avoid gathering at the doors to converse
Cell Phones are not to be used during working hours
What ways can you keep yourself safe while assisting bathroom usage?
Group of 3, being visible, alerting your co staff you are supporting a child, use half door to support verbally. Always use PPE when physically assisting bathroom usage or diapering.
What is positive reinforcement and how would we use it in kids club?
Positive reinforcement is when we encourage children by praising or rewarding positive behavior. In Kids Club, we can use it by noticing when children listen, share, help others, follow directions, or use kind words. For example, saying, “Great job sharing with your friend!” helps children understand that their positive behavior is noticed and encourages them to do it again.
