At Revelation 21:6 why is Jehovah called the Alpha and the Omega?

Alpha and omega are the first and last letters of the alphabet in Greek. The respective positions of these letters in the Greek alphabet are used to illustrate that Jehovah alone is the beginning and the end. (Revelation 21:6) He was Almighty God in the infinite past, and he will continue to be Almighty God forever. He is the only one who is “from everlasting to everlasting.”—Psalm 90:2.

Why did King Hezekiah proceed to rebel against the king of Assyria? And instead of trusting in himself to win the war, what happened when he put his trust in Jehovah?

The kingdom of Judah was under God’s disfavor and the worship of false gods ran unrestrained in Judah, so to regain God's favor and get rid of false worship, he broke the alliance with Assyria.

Then Jehovah sent an angel and wiped out every mighty warrior, leader, and chief in the camp of the king of Assyria so that he went back to his own land in disgrace.

Are the qualities listed at Galatians 5:22, 23 the only aspects of “the fruitage of the spirit”?

Hence, it is not that Galatians 5:22, 23 sets out a complete list of Christian qualities. God’s spirit can help us to develop the nine aspects listed as “the fruitage of the spirit.” But there are more qualities to be cultivated as we grow in Christian maturity and “put on the new personality that was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty.”—Eph. 4:24. (w20 June p. 17)

Since Jehovah forbids idolatry, why did he not punish Aaron for making the golden calf?

Because of such supplication and for at least two other reasons, it seems that Jehovah answered Moses’ prayer and did not punish Aaron. One reason apparently had to do with Aaron’s record of faithfulness.

However, Aaron’s subsequent actions indicate that his heart was not with this idolatrous movement. He evidently gave in to pressure.

Who Are “the Living Creatures With Four Faces” in Ezekiel's vision and what do they represent? (Ezekiel 1:4,5,10)

Bonus Points (x2) Ezekiel saw in the vision that each of the living creatures had four faces. What does that indicate?

In a later vision, Ezekiel identified these four living creatures as “cherubs,” or mighty angelic creatures. (Ezek. 10:2) The lion’s face pictures courageous justice; the eagle’s face, far-seeing wisdom; the bull’s face, irresistible power, as has often been stated in our publications.

Just as the four cherubs represent all other loyal spirit creatures, so the four faces of the cherubs when viewed together stand for, or embrace, all the attributes that Jehovah possesses.*

Proverbs 24:16 says: “The righteous one may fall seven times, and he will get up again.” Does this refer to someone who repeatedly falls into sin but then is forgiven by God?

Actually, that is not the point of this verse. Rather, it refers to someone who falls in the sense of repeatedly facing problems or adversities and who gets up again in the sense of being able to recover. Yes, rather than speak of “falling” in the moral sense of falling into sin, Proverbs 24:16 refers to experiencing problems or difficulties, even repeatedly.

While in captivity in Babylon, King Manasseh repented and prayed to Jehovah and he was moved and restored to the kingship. What did King Manasseh do after the kingship was restored to him?

He removed the foreign gods and the idol image from Jehovah’s house, as well as the altars he had built “in the mountain of the house of Jehovah and in Jerusalem.” Manasseh prepared the altar of Jehovah and began to sacrifice upon it, encouraging others also to serve Jehovah.

According to 1 Timothy 3:16, what is the sacred secret of godly devotion?

Whether perfect obedience to Jehovah’s sovereignty is possible for humans or not was a secret for ages. Jesus provided the answer by maintaining perfect integrity to God until his death.

Why were David and Bath-sheba not put to death for committing adultery, whereas their newborn son died?

Since the human judges could not read hearts, they were to render judgment on the basis of the conduct of the wrongdoers as established by the facts. An act of adultery called for the death sentence. Jehovah chose to make an exception and deal with the matter himself. David and Bath-sheba were not to escape all consequences of their sin and so their child died.

Based on Deuteronomy 34:10 how did Jehovah know Moses face to face?

“Face to face” may denote intimate association or communication. Thus, Moses was privileged to have such a close relationship with God and be used so powerfully by God that he is referred to as a prophet “whom Jehovah knew face to face.” (De 34:10-12) While it is said that Moses beheld “the appearance of Jehovah” and that Jehovah spoke to him “mouth to mouth,” yet Moses never saw Jehovah’s face literally. Rather, as the context shows, it was God’s speaking through angelic spokesmen to Moses in open, verbal communication (instead of by visions or dreams) that gave the basis for such expression. (Nu 12:6-8; Ex 33:20; Ac 7:35, 38; Ga 3:19; compare Ge 32:24-30; Ho 12:3, 4.)

Based on 1 John 4:18 When the apostle John wrote that “perfect love throws fear outside,” what did he mean by “perfect love,” and what “fear” is thus thrown outside?

When John wrote about “perfect love,” he was speaking about love of God that is wholehearted, fully developed, and embracing all aspects of one’s life.—Matthew 5:46-48; 19:20, 21. If his love for God and his feeling of God’s love for him are fully developed, he is not hampered by fear of condemnation or rejection. Rather, he enjoys freeness of speech in expressing what is in his heart and in asking for forgiveness on the basis of the ransom sacrifice, which God has lovingly provided through Jesus Christ. (w04 10/1 p. 29)

The apostle Paul wrote that Jehovah “will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.” (1 Cor. 10:13) How do we know that Jehovah does not assess in advance what we can bear and then choose the trials we will face? Name 4 Reasons

As we examine 1 Corinthians 10:13, we will see that the Bible does not support the idea that Jehovah knows ahead of time what we can endure and then decides what trials we will have. First, Jehovah gave humans free will, the freedom to make choices. Second, Jehovah does not protect us from “unexpected events.” Third, each one of us must maintain integrity to Jehovah. Fourth, Jehovah does not choose to know everything that will happen to us ahead of time.
