What is the purpose of a value in an LD debate round?
The value is the ultimate philosophical goal of affirming/negating the resolution. It tells the judge the highest standard by which they should evaluate the round.
Cases always begin with what?
Technically, definitions/observations. But framework (V and VC) will be accepted as an answer as well.
What is the resolution?
The topic being debated.
It is typically an action, opponents debate whether or not it should be taken.
It can also be a statement of fact that opponents debate. Ie. The possession of nuclear weapons is immoral.
How many minutes long is the affirmative constructive speech?
How long is the negative constructive?
Aff: 6 minutes
Neg: 7 minutes

What is the purpose of the value criterion?
The value criterion is the means by which you can achieve the value. Typically looks like a sentence beginning with a verb.
Ie. (minimizing structural violence/maximizing well-being are criteria to achieving justice or morality)

To logically explain why it is true
There are two objectives you should aim for in your rebuttal speech. What are they?

Offense (attacking your opponents case) and Defense (defending your own case)

What is the purpose of the warrant/link part of the contention?
A series of cards that logically explains why your argument is true/will happen, and proves how your contention links to your framework.
What is a card?
A piece of specifically cut and pasted evidence within a contention
What are voters, and what speech are they typically presented in?
Voters are brief, final reasons presented to the judge for why they should vote your side.
They are typically given in the very last speech each side gives.
